The Yellowknife Day Care Association is a non-profit organization that is licensed to operate Day Care Services for 60 children. We are a vibrant, friendly, active and interactive team, ready to help your child learn in a warm, fun and friendly environment. We offer a well equipped, spacious indoor facility, large outdoor play areas and use the government recommended child/teacher ratios. There is continuous staff supervision, and we encourage the development of self-help skills such as: dressing, toileting, resting, washing, eating and interaction with others. Teachers are responsive to parents' concerns about their child's individual development. We practice fire evacuation and safety procedures monthly. We ensure adequate rest time and quiet periods for children of all ages in a neat, clean enviornment. A full-time cook ensures that all children get daily nutritious meals following the Canada Food Guide as closely as possible. The daily programs are balanced between physically active outdoor, creative indoor education activities and unstructured play times.
